The residential complex “Signature” 2019, Ukraine, Kiev
The residential complex called “Signature” is the first large-scale building in Ukraine that uses a difficult parametric architecture. We associated the structure of the facade with the neural connections, which we brought to life as moving light neural impulses. To fix the light sources, a special curvilinear profile was developed that bends in both horizontal and vertical planes. This solution is completely integrated into the architecture of our building. On the facade of the shopping part of the complex, there are windows of irregular shapes for which we develop special louvered screens. These screens will be translucent, but from a certain distance, the video content will be visible on them.
Signature is a residential complex in Kyiv, Ukraine. The fluid parametric architecture of the building is emphasized by a colorful illumination that associates with neural impulses in the human’s body. In the lower part of the building, special louvered screens are developed to fill the windows. These screens will be translucent, but from a certain distance, video content will be visible on them.
The residential complex called “Signature” is the first large-scale building in Ukraine that uses a difficult parametric architecture. We associated the structure of the facade with the neural connections, which we brought to life as moving light neural impulses. Moving along the facade of an upper residential section of the complex, the impulses smoothly take the visitor inside, into the entrance of the lower shopping part, creating a feeling of the taking flow. Impulses have different colors just like a human’s thoughts may touch upon different categories. To fix the light sources, a special curvilinear profile was developed that bends in both horizontal and vertical planes. This solution is completely integrated into the architecture of our building and does not break it. The nodes, sizes of the niches for the equipment accommodation as well as the cable inputs and outputs were individually developed. On the facade of the shopping part of the complex, there are windows of irregular shapes for which we develop special louvered screens. These screens will be translucent, but from a certain distance, the video content will be visible on them. This decision is integrated into the overall conception of the backlight: impulses, while flowing around the facade, will provoke the image change on the screens. All the elements of the backlight are controlled through a single system, which we also developed within the project.
