Shenzhen Planning Exhibition 2020, China, Shenzhen

The Shenzhen Planning Exhibition shows Shenzhen in all its vitality, characterized as it is and has been by continuous change and growth

The Museum of Contemporary Art & Planning Exhibition (MOCAPE) in Shenzhen, southern China, invites visitors to explore the urban development of the 12-million-strong megacity on the three themed floors "Urban-Co-Living," "Urban Co-Planning" and "Urban Co-Thinking. The central highlight installation, the "Shenzhen Lens" in the atrium, has a diameter of 15 meters and consists of three information levels that are superimposed on each other like an architect's sketch paper. Each information level symbolizes one exhibition level. For each floor visited, the visitor accesses a new level of the lens. Each level has a different perspective on the 40-year development of the city of Shenzhen to offer. The first level shows Shenzhen's natural environment and location. The second level shows how the city itself has been embedded in nature. The third level opens up in numerous screens hanging above the lens. On them, visitors can record their wishes for the city of Shenzhen, observe the flow of movement at individual locations in the city in real time, or follow movement diagrams of residents. Visitors experience the history from a small village to a metropolis of millions and catch a glimpse of the future development of this fascinating city. // Media Planning with: medienprojekt p2 // Media Design with: Silkroad Visual Technology Co., Ltd.
